**Lessons from TV**

Did you know you can learn --cough cough-- valuable lessons from watching shows on TV. One show in particular is American Idol.

Situation 1 Some people claim that they auditioned because their friends told them that they sing like a true American Idol. Ironically, they sucked big time. Even after being told off by the judges, they still rant on about how unfair the judges were.
Lesson Dishonesty can lead people to do stuff that would really embarass themselves.

Situation 2 People leaving the room with rejection, crying a river. Yes, sometimes the judges (especially Simon) can be a real pain in the ass. Some get hugged and comforted by fellow contestants.
Lesson Cry in a big crowd if you expect some sympathy.

Situation 3 Many contestants lack a sense of self. They absolutely totally CANNOT sing, and yet refer to themselves as "the next American Idol".
Lesson Ask for trustworthy advice before doing something you are totally ignorant about.

Situation 4 A contestant begged to be accepted because his brother got in. He begged real hard. And I mean real hard.
Lesson Desperation usually gets you nowhere.

The Last Situation Some people can really sing, some people really can't.
The painful lesson Hollywood is not for all of us.

Is Hollywood for me then?

So you see, who says TV is all bad? May we learn more from the TV.

Happy Sabbath!
