**Between Yum and Yuck...**

...is what I'll say what grasshoppers taste like when they're fried (or not). They're super crunchy and sometimes if you're unlucky, you'd get sharp pieces of their brittle exoskeleton stuck somewhere down your throat. And that's what happened to me. Had to cough 'em out. Uncomfortable, really.

If you really wanna know how it tastes like, try it. Here are some tips:
  1. Start with a really really small piece and then gradually increase the size.
  2. Have a positive mind. Really, it helps.
  3. It would really help to have some water to wash it down or to get rid of the aftertaste.
  4. Be around sporting friends. I wasn't :)
  5. Ignore the rough texture and peculiar taste. Concentrate on the crunch.
  6. Don't think of the grasshopper or it's head or eyes when chewing.
  7. Chew thoroughly. You don't want any piece to get stuck in your throat.

And when you've downed a whole grasshopper, congratulate yourself on a job well done. You can now boast that you have eaten your first fried grasshopper. Like what I'm doing :p

I never thought I would ever do that. My next goal: eating lollipops with worms in them. Just kidding. I don't think I'd ever muster enough mental and intestinal constitution for that feat. Ugh.
