I was in College Grammar class, and the lecturer asked, "Do you know what is a 'morpheme?'"
Silence.
"A morpheme is the smallest unit in a language..." and her face broke into a shocked expression, complete with raised eyebrows, widened eyes, and gaping mouth. And her face remained in that frightening manner for a few seconds before she continued, "...that makes sense."
I thought she was having a heart attack or something.
